The Beginning – Marta Bencivenni – 9 oktober

@katarinaapgallery is a gallery in central Södermalm (Stockholm), run by Falkenberg Art School. This fall, the board presents a programme of four exhibitions featuring seasoned artists.
The second exhibition, curated by Ashik Zaman, spotlights painter @marta.bencivenni.art, a graduate of @kungl.konsthogskolan.

“The Beginning” foregrounds, at surface level, the quiet, timeless mundane through singular frames. The pointed title, however, suggests a search for connections, animating the images cinematically as a whole, a loop to close with a sense of narrative.

Once you become aware of its Italian setting, it’s impossible not to open windows towards film references like Visconti and Scola.

The exhibition opens October 9, 17.00–20.00
